My head is full of stuff this morning….
What would it mean to Christians to take the Bible as a whole instead of breaking it apart into compartments or chapters, verses, etc.? Would it have a different meaning than what we are used to?
Leonard Sweet gave a great demonstration that I have continued to use….
We tend to view things in the world, in scripture, etc. like we eat an orange. We peel it, pull it apart, and taste one section at a time. But what if we began to view things as if we ate an apple? Consuming the WHOLE fruit. How then would that change our perspective?
This week as I met with youth at breakfast, I asked them this question of the week. I hope that they will begin to think about life, about scripture, about God’s love in this way.
May we begin to consume the whole fruit, even if only for a season, so that we can see what God has in store for us anew!
